Changing adjectives to nouns

We see the word　明るさ appear in the options panel. This is the noun form of the adjective 明るい. You can change any i-adjectives to a noun by replacing the last い to さ. In English, this is sometimes done by adding -ness at the end of the adjective.

• 高い <-----> 高さ

High <-----> Height

• 美しい <----->　美しさ

Beautiful <-> Beauty

• 黒い <-------> 黒さ

Black <------> Blackness

For na-adjectives, add a さ after the adjective (without the な)

• 静か <-------> 静かさ

Quiet <------> Quietness

• にぎやか <----> にぎやかさ

Lively <-----> liveliness
