• Here, the katakana カ is used to represent the kanji 力, as they are nearly indistinguishable anyway. • The item "Spring Water" could also be read as "Holy Water." I chose the first based on Google results; when searching for each kanji reading along with ドラゴンクエスト, there were more than 15 times as many results. The analogy is the same for both: As Holy Water repels evil, so does Spring Water repel filth.
