• Here, the katakana カ is used to represent the kanji 力, as they are nearly indistinguishable anyway. This is the only usage of kanji in the entire game, although there are a handful of other places where the same usage technically could have occurred. The same situation pops up in future Dragon Quest games.

It was apparently translated for the North American release, since it appears in a text dump by Blueberry Buttface on GameFAQs, but I have no idea where it could come up.
