Intro[edit]
すると・・・
ある [noun] is a common idiom for "a certain [noun]", literally "a [noun] that exists". ある日 is thus literally "(On) a certain (unspecified) day". It's used where you'd see "One day," in English.
すると is an idiom meaning "whereupon" or "thereupon". It can be seen as a conjunction, though it's just する followed by conditional と.
TODO — Comment on のこと.
This translation is very awkward -- Monty would never talk that way -- but it helps illustrate the Japanese wording.
The んだ here indicates a command rather than an explanation.
助けなくちゃ = 助けなくては, a conditional construction.
Select a character[edit]
だ becomes な before explanatory の.
This is a very common way to express the idea that you "should" do something. The Japanese don't like explicitly telling somebody that they have an obligation, even a mild one, to do something, so instead they tend to say "It would be good if..."
Hamton[edit]
みたい = to seem; similar. Do not confuse with 見たい.
会 is meet as in "meeting someone"; 合 is meet as in "fit, go together, meet a standard".
Ending[edit]
The form 懲らしめられ (連用形) is usually used to connect multiple sentences, here intentionally used to create and open sentence that is continued below "chastise/punish...". Contrasting with 懲らしめられて, the connection established by this form is more loose.
活躍 means "impressive efforts/achievements".
戻り: See two sentence above.
お・し・ま・い!!
ということで means "accordingly, with that".
